greeting all,

working on this unit I get a fault on the lower oven 4D22. with the unit unplugged I checked the lower element and got a reading of 20 ohm.

I check with the plug in and got 240 volts for about 30 sec and then the error came up and back to 120 volts from the wire to ground.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

I found this:

http://servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16022512.pdf

On page 5 it has the list of fault codes, it addresses 4D22 as no reverse fan airflow rotation.

should never have 240v to ground ...

only 240v from L1 (hot) to L2 (hot)

that's correct, I worded it incorrectly in the first post.

thanks for the quick response

it addresses 4D22 as no reverse fan airflow rotation.

don't see what the fix is. any suggestion?

Thanks, Reg, I tried to download the service manual, but it took too long, so I gave up.

vent fan was working but kept getting the fault code. in checking the fan found a disconnect wire, reconnected the wire and the oven ran without error.

thanks all for your help.
