I have a GE Dryer Model: DBL333EAOWW SN: RA732465W The unit does not turn on any more. I suspect it's a problem with the power switch because the switch spins around 360 degrees now, rather than simply moving to the on position then returning to 12 o clock. I have removed the switch from the dryer. Can anyone point me to instructions on how to open and repair the swich? Or, can you point me to the proper replacement part? [any other suggestions on how to verify that the switch is the problem would be great. I suppose I could just connect the leads into the switch and plug in the dryer, but that somehow seems a little unsafe] Thanks.

Thanks. The knob itself is slightly cracked but it does turn the wheel inside.

I replaced the power switch but the dryer still does not work. Are there any instructions for troubleshooting the electrical system? I suspect that the exhaust outlet hose was kinked so there may have been a lot of back pressure on the motor...is there a fuse of some kind that could have blown? Thanks.

Yes there is a fuse...lift the top...look behind drum to the right...small black fuse with two little wires going to it. Use your ohm meter..unplug 1 of the wires....if no continuity then its bad. Short lengths of flexible metal may be OK, if not crimped when moving the Dryer into place. NO plastic NO PVC NO screws Foil Duct Tape is OK. With an empty load, Timed Dry, High Heat, the vent temperature should cycle somewhere between 135F and 160F Disconnect the Dryer Vent and check for good air-flow there and where it exits the house. Check the Vent air temperature at the back of the Dryer. If you have a Harbor Freight Store near you, click on picture $ 4.99 sometimes on sale for $ 2.99 ![]()

Turns out the drive belt was broken, which tripped the motor kill switch. Anyone have a link to the replacement belt? Also, when I manually turned the drum, about 1/4 of the rotation felt a little scratchy against the felt guide/bushing. Anything I should do to make sure the rotation is smooth? Thanks.

I am not at my computer at the moment, but you can get the belt at repairclinic.com but even though you dryer is a GE its actuallly made by Frigidaire. Long story short the GE belt is $41 and the frigidaire is probably $20....same belt....someone can link you to the frigidaire belt, just stand by.
