i had to get a new multimeter the other day so i went to sears to see what they had. they had a combo pack that included a nice meter, voltage pen, amp clamp for meter and infrared temp. gun. all for $99. i didn't really need the amp meter or voltage pen but i did want the temp gun. the gun sold for 70 by itself, so i went ahead and got it. its nice to take immediate temps in refrigs, and freezers, for those customers that "think" something is wrong but aren't sure.

I picked mine up several years back. I paid around 90 dollars then. But it is one of the best tools out there for fridges and freezers. You walk in on a defrost problem and you know pretty quick most of the time just by temps.

I got mine from Harbor Freight and it only cost around $20.00, it's just a small hand held one, (fits in the palm of your hand and doesn't take up so much room in the tool box), it even has the laser beam. They also sale one exactly the same but without the laser beam for around $10.00, really nice little units.
