Has any body installed a new Maytag dishwasher yet???? I am getting ready to start installing the 3/8npt X 3/8 compression fitting on the water valve and what do I find.......The have changed to a 3/4' garden hose thread on the water valve... ( In the install instructions, it still shows using the 3/8 X 3/8 fitting, a piece of paper is added as an after thought to inform the installer... Oh, by the way ) ....You are going to need part number W10273460.....

repairclinic does not have ( go to repairclinic to view the part ) ............my parts houses do not have......

If I have to make-up a part till that part is on the shelf......................ARG......

Been in production for a month or two,  Personally I like it.  All of us have a wrench we use that you can get on the old nut that you can turn a 1/8th of a turn, then flip it over for 1/16 of a turn, and keep repeating the process.  I have big paws, and the new fitting is a breeze.  The unit I installed had a big yellow sticker on the box stating the part number you have listed was needed to do the install.  PD had it for under 5$ Lowes has a similar kit for 3X's the cost.

They never included the street 90 elbow on the older units needed for hook up either.  You just knew you needed one.  This will be the same way as people get use to it.

I guess the difference is what is available at the local hardware store for the plumber or the self-installer. Having to order this part on-line is going to slow things down a bit, just can't run down the street and pick one up...

I had to stop by ACE hardware ( "ACE is the place ") for the closest parts.....Hose adapter, p/n 71938 and  p/n 44149..3/8 comp. X 1/2"MPT  elbow for $7.50.........................  With this new fitting  by whilpool I will need to increase my install price by almost $10.00 bucks..... I charge $120.00 with a new S.S. supply line now as it is now, I guess it will now be $100.00 to install, plus $30.00 in install hardware....

CTG51, can't you just find a stainless flex line with the 3/4" fitting on one end and then whatever size you need for the undersink valve on the opposite end.  Since you already include a new S.S. flex in your install price this would cover it all.

Unless of course it's one of the new tall tub models were everything is so low to the floor and if the inlet on the valve points to the floor and can't be rotated so no room for the flex line to curve without kinking shut.
