If I set the thermastat for 350, it goes to 425. On the other hand, if I set it for 250, it might to 300 or so. So basically it varies and I keep an oven thermometer in it all the time to check the temp, which is kinda annoying. Is there something I can do to fix this? Is it easy/common repair if so, or should I just skip it? Thanks.

if you have a round dial type oven thermometer, throw it away, get a digital one, then set it for 350 it will go to 425, the cool down to some where below 350 and cut heat back on go up to somewhere over 350, you need to note what temp on what temp off add those temps and divide by the number of times off and on 3 each is recomended. this is your temp ovens dont stay at 350 they average 350...if its not close check the owners man. for calibration instructions

10-4 on what K.man said. A little more elaboration here. A popular and reliable oven temperature sensor-- preferred by Mrs. Samurai-- here.
