Hey, everyone... long-time lurker, first-time subscriber.

So I have a Kenmore slide-in range -- 911.4672992 -- that, after a power outage the other day, came up with an F1 error and constant, obnoxious beeping. All signs suggest that the timer/control unit are bad, but unfortunately it seems that the particular board for this unit has been discontinued and there's no alternative.

So my question is twofold:

1. Is there an equivalent control unit that would work with this stove that Sears just won't acknowledge?

2. If that's not the case, can anyone recommend where I might find a used one? I'm in Atlanta if that makes a difference.

Many thanks,
- Lee

That's great, thanks. Hard to believe the stove's so old they don't make parts for it anymore, but it came with the house...

One follow-up question, if you don't mind -- how do I get the control panel off of the front of the stove to get at the control unit? I've removed the three screws underneath the knob panel and the two that hold the brackets on, but it looks like there are also screws beneath the cooktop. Do I have to remove those as well and, if so, how do I disengage the cooktop?

Or is this a "call a professional" kind of question?

Many thanks.

The problem starts because Kenmore 911.xxxxxxxx is a Roper, made by GE,
which makes so many different, individual models, it would be diffcult to stock all the different parts.

The next problem is the difficulty in getting any GE service information ...

I'll try to find a similar service manual

Isn't Roper a Whirlpool label? Or did something change?

Well, on the Ranges, when Roper was bought by Whirlpool the range parts went to GE so they are all GE parts now for the 911. cooking source...
