I know the error code ER-FF is freezer fan and it's recommended to replace the PCB and the fan motor. My question is will this error code stop the ice and water from working or is that another problem?

Have you observed the Freezer Fan speed ? It may just be obstructed with ice. Who recommends replacing the PCB when replacing the Freezer Fan ? LRSC26930 Service Manual

An ER-FF Code is almost ALWAYS caused by frozen condensation build around the evaporator fan motor. Typically this is caused by the defrost controller telling the PCB to start the cooling cycle too soon after defrost. The condensation / steam from defrost gets frozen and builds up. If the fan is stopping ( or slowing down ) because of ice b.u. you should hear a chopping / scraping sound until the door is opened. If it is a frost only issue, defrost the box and wipe out any condensation / water. If it is persistent change the defrost controller. The fan motor could be bad but it is unlikely. We have only come across 1 bad one in hundreds on ff codes. Suspect the frost / ice.

I was going by a post dated march 30 2007 started by Econo Appliance and answered by Pegi. What is the procedure for removing the freezer back panel?

As I recall neither service manual nor bulletins give the removal procedures. Remove the ice bin, all the shelves & ice maker. Remove the auger motor assmy. Remove the screw in the center of the panel the light fixtures are on. This panel snaps into place on the sides into grooves in the cabinet. Bend and pull the panel forward. The evap. fan assmy. is behind this panel. ( You may have to remove the lower panel first )

Thanks for the info. The bottom panel has two arrows on each side pointing outward. Does this panel bend and pull out also?

I replaced the evaporator fan and defrost control. Works good now. Could they have made that icemaker any more difficult to remove? The job will be easier when evolution sprouts humans a third arm

Clman, Got a question for you regarding a new LG. Just bought a new 28sqft model, French door, stainless. Best Buy delivered, plugged it in, set, etc. After 24 hours, still no cooling for freezer/fridge. Compressor kicks in, condensor cooling fan operates, panel lights up and temps can be adjusted. --NO AIRFLOW IN FRIDGE CABIN, MINMAL IN FREEZER--. Strangely, no fault codes displayed. Any ideas? Got Best Buy tech coming to look at it, but will probably have it exchanged.

First step taken...after getting the run around from Best Buy, I told em to come to the house and get the piece of junk. Seems they wouldn't be able to get a Geek Squad tech to the house between TODAY, but sometime between tomorrow and NEXT TUESDAY! That pushed me over the edge. So they money will be refunded. I bought another one at Sears, to be delivered TODAY!

I recently bought a M/W Oven from Sear's Outlet Store on Wednesday. It didn't work. I could return it or wait for a service call.... next Thursday ... OK, it's not a Fridge ...
