Just the heating element itself melted in two, but did not damage anything else (I think) No China Syndrome thankfully!

If you are handy , take the motor/pump assy. out and then you can get at heater wires and nuts. Or , take the d/w out so you can get you hand in through the side to get at heater connections. Only remove what you need to so you can sneak a hand in.
