My dryer is driving me nuts. No matter what I do the link collects in the door and in the link basket. I have cleaned the link basket and checked for blockage with the vent. Nothing. Any ideas how to stop the maddness? Thanks

Do you have a long vent line, or one that need cleaned out?

It has just been installed and the vent line is new. It comes from the back on the dryer, straight across about 2 feet and then out.

No matter how short a dryer vent is, it can still have backpressure problems. A common choke point is that first 90 degree elbow out the back of the dryer. If a spiral vent hose is attached directly to the dryer exhaust w/o a 90 degree aluminum fiting, this creates a major restriction when the dryer is puched back against the wall. Thanks. I have a solid 4 inch pipe out the back. But I have 3 90 angles. Not much choice with that. So If that's the problem, I get to live with it.

Having 90 degree bends is not, in and of itself a problem-- it's a matter of how those bends are made: with a proper fitting or not. The Internet is a reading medium-- do yourself a favor and read the link I posted above. It is, after all, why you're here.

Hello, my linty friend. The mesh in your lint filter has become clogged with detergent residue vapors which have condensed onto it in a sticky layer which is highly efficient at capturing lint. To solve this problem, you must replace the lint filter. Use the handy parts lookup form above.
