Konichiwa, Sensei!

I am looking for help with an blinking light error code on the above Thermador range.  The code I am getting is two blinks of the heating light on the main oven.  The oven light does not blink.  Based on what I have read elsewhere on the website this would be an "02" error.  However, none of the thermador error code lists I have looked at show such a code.  I even called Thermador, but the custumer service representative said her list did not have that code.  She suggested I contact a local service provider.  I have emailed Abt Electronic where the unit was purchased, but have not heard back from their tech support group.

Based on the "Complete Listing of All Error Codes for All Thermador Cooking Products" and the "All Appliance Fault Code" list on RepairClinic.com, I have good reason to suspect that an the "02" code may be a "Temperature Runway" error, same as an E2 or F2 or F32 on some other thermador units.  Could you confirm this for me?

The symptoms the range is exhibiting are that the main oven will not turn on when a temperature is selected and the auxilary oven will light but turns off after about 45 seconds and then relights about 15 seconds afterwards.  This lighting/relighting cycle of the auxilary oven allows it to get warm, but not maintain the selected temperature.  The cooktop and griddle work normally.

With the assumption that the error was an runway temperature fault, I checked the resistance of oven temperature sensor and it was ~1080 Ohms.  I also checked the TOD which showed 0.2 ohms.  Both of these seem fine.  I then check the connections for these devices which aslo looked OK.  I should also mention that we have not recently run a cleaning cycle.

At this point I am stuck.  Is there something else I should check, should I assume the ERC is bad and replace it?  Of course this may only be reasonable, if my assumption about the error code was right.

You help and wisdom or that of any of the master appliantologists would be greatly appreciated.

mata o aishi masho,

rostrowski

P.S. If available, I would greatly appreciate an electronic copy of the service manual for this unit.  I have seen such manuals for other manufactures provided in other posts.

maybe it's Error E1    Code 22  EEPROM Error ...

where the EEPROM is so screwed up it doesn't know how to display the correct error......

Thermador (and some others) Service info is hard to get.

I do have a 12 MB part of a PGR Training Manual I could send you that may help (if I had your email address)

Domo argigato, RegUS_PatOff!

I received your email and the manual will come in quite handy.  I see from it that I need to check the oven temperature potentiometer.  If that looks good, it is has got to be the ERC.  I am baffled by the "02" fault code and agree with you after having looked at the codes listed in the manual that the most likely error code is "22", an EEPROM error.

Thank you again for the help and for your persistance in getting me the document.

Sayonara,

rostrowski
