My Maytag neptune dryer MDE5500AYW started squeaking loudly at the beginning of the cycle a couple of weeks ago and now does it constantly. I don't know very much about appliance repair so detailed help would be great. Thanks!

Sounds like you need new drum rollers or front glide bearings. Maybe both. Type your model # into the yellow box that says search for parts and it will take you to RC. First two items shown are what you need.

Thank you for your help. Are these two parts difficult to install?

These are very easy to access. Two screws in the hinges of the door and then door lifts out. Two screws on the opposite side holding plastic spacers. Once these four screws are out the front panel tilts right out.

Okay, I have lifted the front panel off. I am guessing that the area that I need to get to is under the plastic cover but I am having trouble removing it. Is there a trick to removing it or do I just use more force? See, I told you that I was a little challenged is this area!!!
