I have some old (1988) Carrier ac units that I'd like to replace. I've lubed the fan motors as best I can several times but inevitably they'll freeze up on the hottest day of the year. Chassis is pretty rusted as well. Model number is 51ZMA70601.

Problem is, we have a nice old place and in order to avoid carving up the wall, I'd like to just slide in a new sleeve or new unit rather than cut a bigger hole. Existing sleeve outside dimensions are 15" H x 20 1/8" W x 16 1/2 D but guessing I'll never find a new one to fit the existing sleeve.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

SHIPPING AC UNITS IS EXPENSIVE  so go to your local motel owner and ask where he gets his units you will find he uses  a dealer nearby .with sales and service .......why by something over the internet that you cant find service for in your area ..........update : this is what happens when i just skim a post . looking at the size you want you just need a regular sized wall/window unit .... take your measurement to . sears /lowes /best buy ect ...... i does not matter anymore wnat brand you buy ( there all cheeply made )  if you want less trouble dont buy into all the bells a whistles ( no remote controls ,digital controls ect ) KEEP IT SIMPLE ....best if luck BOB

Thanks Bob. I agree that shipping would be to much. Wasn't really planning to buy online but was curious about the wisdom of trying to find one the same size versus having a bigger hole cut in the wall...
