It can't hurt to open the back... take some more pictures... just for the record... Write down the serial number of the fridge you have now.. just for the record... Maybe someday a new user on this board may need it ... RegUS_PatOff: Don't know, never got that far. Which raises another question: Lowes said my extended warranty would transfer automatically since it was tied to the model number and not the serial number, and this unit "has not been registered". Never mind I bought it because the unit was failing. I guess that means I lose a month? I also gave the Whirlpool lady my name and home phone in order to get any help. That won't do anything I suppose? She gave up when I explained that I live on a very rural ranch-type property where the fridge resides as opposed my in-town mailing address (my old mailbox got shot to death so I gave it a proper burial). Turns out she had been trying to set up a service call without my instruction. She finally asked a supv. and he asked for my 911 address (none that I know of and the gates are all locked far away...made me think about that). They were stymied. Anyway, I guess that warranty transfer seems right? I don't know about these guys telling me anything anymore...

"I forgot to ask , when they delivered the unit did it have all the plastic, tape etc. still intact on the inside of the unit." Texasred: (or anyone who knows) where is the tape on the inside of the fridge supposed to be? I am getting a new one today.

I posted a summary of the replacement fridge from Lowes on this thread last weekend. I checked to see if was there and it was. I got an email that there was a response. When I followed the link here both my post and the response were not here. I also put a summary on the GE link I started and it is gone too. Does anyone know if something got reloaded or everything got deleted? I emailed ApplGuru but so far no response. Is this technology or did I say something wrong? I was thinking of reposting but I don't want to go to the effort if I don't know what's going on. Whoever responded I would be interested in hearing whatever you had to say!

i posted the reply that got wiped. Whirlpool has had issues with fan motors running too slow. your symptoms sound like an airflow issue. i would have whirlpool come out and replace the evaperator fan motor. you should call the 1800 whirlpool number that is in the use and care manual, not lowes 1800 number.
