Help! I got the door off my Thermador PRG304US range for installation [drops the weight from 1million to just under 1 million pounds] but now I can't figure out how to get it back on: there are two prongs on each side, the upper one spring loaded and the lower one with a little flip up clip on it. Any one know how to do this? BTW I called Thermador and they don't know how to do it, either.....

If you removed this and the spring has sprung or the clip was no engaged (door will pull off, many a trip to the local dealer to re-attach for them) you will have to expand the hinge and get the clip to hold it open prior to putting the door back on. There is a lot of tension on those mechanisms so be careful. I put the door on the floor hinges facing up and actually use the heal of my foot to expand it and then reach down and flip the lever to hold it that way. If you use only your hands, use a dishtowel or something but be careful, they eat fingers..... :poison:

DCS hinges, gotta love them!

thank you sir or maddam. I now have a range with an attached door. BTW it took two people to set up each hinge for attachment! I needed both hands and a hot pad for padding to pull the sprung hinge far enough for my daughter to swing the lever onto it. But then ten seconds later and the door was in its rightful place. Order is returned to the universe...

Newbie grasshopper here. Feeling like a Thermador alien.

OK, here's a twist on the Thermador door conversation. I inherited a PRG304US. Arrived with the door off. Read these posts and the manual before attempting re-entry - er, reattaching the door.

One hinge latch released pronto and the other did not! I guess I didn't have that angle exactly right! So now one latch is released and hinge is working, while the other is still in latch locked position. :shock:

Now I can't take the door off or get it fully on (get the locked latch to release).

Can I "just" release that latch? I say "just" because I understand, and can see, that there is a lot of pressure on that latch. I will probably get some help but wondering if I am on the right planet.
