We just purchased a new condo that previously had Speed Queen coin operated washer and dryers. We of course would like to by-pass the need to put coins in, or just open up the coin box so we can just put coins in and take them out.

Trying to save $ now and don't want to replace these things just yet.

The Washer Model is SWT220WA
The Dryer Model is SD109WA

None of the links work on that page, I was hoping to be able to purchase a key from a place that sells Speed Queen parts.

Jace, What lock are you trying to get a key for?

The access panel to the timer control?

or the Money Box?

If it's for the money box you can forget it, each money box key is different and you will have to have a locksmith open it or just drill out the lock.

If the access panel is the one your looking for then that shouldn't be as difficult since most all SpeedQueens use the same access key. Problem is, it has been so long ago that I've worked on a coinop SpeedQueen I couldn't even give you a wild guess as to the key#.

Yes I'm looking for the money box, is there any other way to have these machines by-pass the money box?

If not I think I'll probably contact a lock smith or drill it out.

Ok, I found some info on the access door key for SpeedQueen.

Most likely if the lock is a standard tubular style the key you need will be GR800.

But if you don't intend on using this as a coin-op then just drill the lock out of the moneybox and take the moneybox out and just recycle the same set of quarters for every load.

You could open the access door but then you have to be careful not to stick your hand into the timer wiring and to turn the timer advance knob just right, It would be best to get the moneybox out and just use the coinslide.

Jace, forgot to note, the GR800 key is not the moneybox key. It is the timer control access key. As I posted before each moneybox uses a different key, you would never want your moneybox keys to be universal else anyone that had a coinop unit of the same kind could ripoff the money.
