Hello all I re-crimped the white wires at the water solenoid and the unit worked GREAT for two (2) days (several loads of laundry) . . . However it is acting up again. I re-crimped again but the unit had gone to stopping in the middle of a cycle. One thing I have noticed is that when the unit stops (and the sound of a small air pump goes on and off every 20secs.) . . . WHEN (AND ONLY WHEN) THIS BRIEF AIR PUMP SOUND HAPPENS I PICK-UP THE UNIT ABOUT 1 INCH OFF THE FLOOR ON THE FRONT LEGS AND DROP IT HARD ON THE FLOOR . . . TO JAR IT (WHATEVER IT IS) THE UNIT BEGINS TO WORK AGAIN FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN STOPS AND AT THE AIR-PUMP SOUND AGAIN I DROP IT TO GO BACK TO WORK. THIS AIR-PUMP SOUND I FEEL IS A TRIGGER TO START THE MOTOR TO DO SOMETHING. ANY MORE HELP TO GET THIS UNIT WORKING PROPERLY IS APPRICIATED.

AND ANOTHER THING . . . WHEN THE MOTOR DOES START, IT MOST TIMES MAKES A GRINDING SOUND TURNS VERY SLOW (AS IF IT WERE STRAINING) THEN AFTER ABOUT 5 SECS. IT GET UP TO SPEED. JUST A THOUGHT I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR !

ANOTHER THING THE UNIT HAS ITS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM ONLY IN THE WASH AND RINSE CYCLE (WHEN THE MOTOR TURNS THE DRUM LEFT AND RIGHT) THE UNIT DOES NOT HAVE AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHEN IT IS IN THE SPIN CYCLE . . . THE SPIN CYCLE WORKS OK. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thanks to everyone who helped me in the repair of the machine . . . they are: Stumpowitz (the first to respond and did the actual fix via his suggestion of parts) Trying to Help Samural Appliance Repair Man KDOG does what he can and kiwi-nadian After all the sub-checks of the ground wire(s) . . . the Motor Control Board and Motor was replaced and all is working OK now. FYI I noticed the outside of motor, there was some rust forming on the exterior part of the magnet (that center band of ribed metal). Could this be part of the problem. Bear-in-mind that I live in south Louisiana with much humity and our utility room housing the washer and dryer is in our enclosed garage with now access to air conditioning, but is fully protected from weather. Any Ideas ? Again THANKS for this forum and all that helped me in the matter.

its not uncommon to see a little rust on the motor shell. i live in the south and see that on a lot of motors. you gotta remember, there is a lot of humidity around the machine anyway: its a washer. glad to hear its workin now.

Hi all! I have the same problem on a MLE2000AYW stacked unit. Unfortunatly, this model doesn't have the fancy diagnostic display so I have to guess. It is located in an exact-fit washer-sized cave in the wall and I would rather not pull it out. This makes it difficult to get at the white wires etc. I was thinking about putting my own new wire from the motor control board up through the top and into the console where I would mate it with the white wire on the chime relay. That wire comes via a terminal on the door switch directly from the Neutral. Pretty direct I would say. I will look at ways to protect it of course. The craziest thing is that when the unit wont even start a cycle, if I start the dryer, then the washer can start. I dont know if the added vibration from the dryer tumbling keeps the connections closed on those "white wires". At first I thought that somehow the dryer was providing alternate route of power to the washer, but I couldn't see anyway for that to occur on the schematic.
