I have a Maytag dryer model #MDG4916AWW the timer stopped also the heating element works when you first start the machune then it goes out and comes on for 7 sec every minute the clothes wont dry this way. I thought it was the timer but the part store said that wasnt the problem and the timer wasnt returnable can someone help me with this problem THANKS

more than likely you're what we called short cycling, you have a blocked vent. remove the vent from the machine and you will see the burner operate for the proper amount of time. if you remove the vent and the burner short cycles change the coils on the burner. post back.

Check the vent for proper airflow, if that's good it is probably the coils. Run it with the vent off to confirm good airflow.

Hi BLTH15 and AccApp removed the vent and not clogged ran the machine for 1 hr without pipe and timer did not move where are the coils located and is it a do it yourself please reply thanks
