I really recommend the test Crouching Tiger told you about. If you make yourself a jumper from a small gauge wire (18-24 Ga.), like thermostat wire, remove the emitter board ( right side) and unplug connector. Jump black and black/white wires through the same holes that slides over the prongs on the board. Have your larger jumper between T and H on i/m module when you do this. Its really not as hard as it sounds. Speaking of the module, have you checked that the locking tabs on the white motor gear, right in center of the wheel ,are unbroken? poke around w/ a small screwdriver, Gently. IF one of those tabs is loose or falls right out, you got yerself a bad module.

Hi all, I have the same type of ice maker and I can't get it to do anything. I've read the repair manual, and a ton of posts. I've replaced the water valve, made sure the tubing wasn't frozen, tested the optics, and went through the multimeter resistance tests found here: http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/icemaker/check/controlmodule2.php I have also tried putting in the jumper as suggested in the repair manual, but nothing. No heat, no movement, no water. Should I just replace the whole ice maker unit, or is there anything here to salvage? I'm wondering if the wiring to the unit could be bad as well, but that should be unlikely? To be specific, this is a Kenmore 106.52562100 Cheers! Nick

OK, so right after I posted that, I checked the icemaker and it was really warm... I still had the jumper from H to T in place like the repair manual says to do. I don't know if it rotated at all, as the jumper was probably there for 20 minutes or so. The manual makes it sound like the blades will move after only a few moments, but nothing happened for several minutes. I unplugged the fridge to try and do the test once more with the jumper in place, but nothing happened after a few minutes... so I removed the jumper and will try the test again tomorrow. Looks like the motor may be shot, but the heater is still good. Nick
