Below are the Maytag original part numbers. They will probably be on the box 99001789- Is Maytag filter part number. It did change from 6 holes to 3 a couple of years back. Stagger the screws in a 12, 7 & 5 O'clock pattern. If the indents are there but not drilled out, carefully drilling them out would be fine. 99002461- Is the Maytag part number for the discharge housing asm. I thought they eliminated the holes to gain more pressure from the water diverting around the plate. I would not drill them out and try it that way. Again, I have really not seen these fail so I have not really looked at one too closely. Usually take it off, set it aside and go on.
