 When you put thr frige into forced Defrost the fan in the freezer as well as the compressor should have turned off. If they didn't then your ADC is bad If they did turn off then replace your Def. T-stat and OHM the heater out and you should be good to go.

As far as the fan goes with the freezer door shut you should be able to feel air flow coming from the vents in the back of the frige, it wont be super strong, but you should definitely be able to tell that there is air coming throughthe vents.
