that will be your best option, then you will know exactly how it does defrost...remember to leave the panel in place so you get a true check/reading...actually go ahead and take the panel loose and get some eyes on the coils before defrosting and then place it back in and start the cycle then check it when it kicks back in or after about 20-25 mins...good  luck
