Oh Kiwi, thanks for the latest advice.  I called my "repair guy" this afternoon and mentioned that perhaps the Diverter Valve was put in front-to-back.  He mentioned that the Valve was a bit different from the original and that he would come back to my house this afternoon and switch it around.

I am one happy "Wash women" right now.  I have started a wash and all seems to be going well...washer filling up with water and the machine making all the normal Fisher Paykel washer noises.  I will keep you posted and let you know once the wash is done..... that all is well.

You guys have been a great help and I can't believe how much I have missed my washing machine over the last 3 weeks.  I only wish it were easier to get parts.  I think my repair guy and I have really had a joint effort on this repair project..... with a lot of information assistance from this website.
