 i know what you mean, I am all for people trying to repair things on their own, but somewhere down the line you have to factor in the risk. Obviously working on gas systems isn't one of those repairs that a nonprofessional should try to do themselves.

I went to a resturant one day (nice upscale) because their gas dryer wasn't heating.

When I arrived i learned that the dryer not working was due to the dryer not getting any gas because it was leaking out in the resturant through a supply line without a shut off :yikes: which was located right beside the kitchen.

I immediately instructed the manager of the estabishment to call the gas company and he should also for the safety of his employees and customers evacuate the resturant. Believe it or not he was mad at me because I couldn't take care of his problem and I still had to charge him a service charge. Anyways his last words to me was "I'll just fix the damn thing myself" I said 10-4 and went on my way. Two days later the resturant burned down, fortunately no one was injured.
