You can start by pulling and de-icing the auger motor with a hair dryer.  In some chronic cases where the auger motor freezes more than once I've been known to put a zip lock bag around the motor after blow drying it bone dry.  Just push the shaft and motor terminals through the bag and reinstall it.  I save the bag for chronic cases cause I'm sure the bag isn't UL approved.
