I don't know where you can get an actual service manual and I've never worked on one so really can't tell you.


It looks like you may have to remove the control panel first to get access the the screws that hold the top down, (ref# 875), or maybe the sealing gaskets, (ref#50&59), are double sided sticky and if you cut the seals the complete cooktop with elements may lift out.

But, here's a parts breakdown of the cooktop parts:

Maybe that will help you with an idea of how if comes apart.

And the model# you should have actually been using to lookup parts is: JS968SF4SS , (note the 4 instead of 1 -- cooktop glass is most likely the same for both though).
