I just purchased a used Neptune washer for a good price. I was hoping it was working...but I found out that it would not empty water or go thru any cycles. The touch panel comes on, but remains in cotton mode. I took the front cover off and examined the motor control board. It had several burnt resistors on it, and it also had a very potent bar BQ smell. I am going to replace this board with the new upgrade that also includes a new motor. Once this is replaced, I hope the washer will function normally. The only concern I have is that the touch panel will not enter service mode. I press the correct buttons as stated in the info paper located inside the top of the washer panel. The touch panel remains in cotton mode, but some of the other buttons work. I was wondering if the main control board is waiting for a signal from the motor control board telling it that the motor is working correctly. Then maybe it will unlock from the cotton setting, and perhaps even go into service mode? Any suggestions from anyone? I also unplugged the motor control board and tried the service mode buttons sequence again, but no service mode. The only other test I can think of is to remove the touch panel, and test all the buttons to see if any of them are sticking on. Maybe this could explain the unit stuck in cotton mode. Thanks for any help on this. thank you Mike M. Last edited on Sun Aug 26th, 2007 08:21 am by mike35z |
