 You'll see the level of liquid through the sight glass. Look at the pressure on the gauge on top and "dial" the outside chart to the pressure. Use the black o-ring as a marker of where you started and allow refrigerant into the system until the correct amount has been dispensed.

It is much easier to learn something of this nature first-hand. Can you observe an experienced tech?
