Yes, here I go, both geeking out and completely off topic .... Well, if this machine turns out to have interesting problems, the Fisher & Paykel motor has been discovered to be useful in a few other applications: http://www.users.bigpond.com/solarbbq/bikeexp/bexp.htm Or as a generator: http://www.sustainability.ofm.uwa.edu.au/welcome/urban_sustainability/wind_turbine__home_made I'm kinda wondering where I could get my hands on a couple of old (and hopefully inexpensive) Calypso motors... they look like they'd make good robot drive motors and/or generators if suitably rewired! Someday, the geek shall inherit the Earth ......
