You may want to be sure to reply directly to Tinto, I got an e-mail saying you replied to me.

However, on my Maytag, the lower arm is held in place by a large (~2.5-3" diameter) plastic furled nut right in the middle of the lower arm.   (There's a large hole in the middle of this nut through which water goes to the sprayer in the middle of the utensil holder.)  Undo that and the whole lower arm assembly will come out.  This exposes the torx bolts that you need to undo to get to the mesh filter. 

I didn't go any further than that, so if you need to get the chopper out, maybe Tinto can help.
