My washer is now running fine. I don't know exactly what I did to repair it. I checked water flow and it seemed fine. Checked the hose that was mentioned, also fine. Could not locate any real problem, so I removed drain hose at the bottom to check the ball for debris-found nothing obviously wrong-I cleaned the hose slightly and removed the ball to inspect. After I put it back together, the washer began to work fine and has ever since. The only thing I can think is that the ball was getting stuck-I remember seeing excessive water in the drum when the washer was throwing it's code and then not seeing the high water when it began to work-possibly from some of the muck I cleaned out of there. I'll post again if the thing quits again, Gordon (by the way goofieshot, thanks for the help!)
