Hi People Nice to see the site still up. If I could just pick your brains on this one. I have a LAT9606 washer that has been problem free forever...till now. It a bit of an old machine but it works so well I would really like to keep it. My issue with the machine, is when it is in spins I can hear a "tapping" sound almost like something touching the outer case (but I am pretty sure nothing is actually touching the case). Its not a hammering loud knock, just a tapping sound that speeds up with the speed of the spin, but never really as fast as the inner tub (does that make sense ?) It like it taps at a 1:4 ratio tap/spin rpm. but very steady. It only does it with wet clothes/weight on the tub and I think I can duplicate the noise if I stop the washer on its spin cycle and swing the inner tub around, but I am not sure that the noise I am hearing is the problem noise or another noise from me pushing it around like a madman. I have already checked the feet for leveling, its on a concrete floor (same spot for the last 15 years or so). I am ashamed to say, I have never done any servicing whatsoever on this machine. I have found this post. http://applianceguru.com/forum2/11268.html But his problem looks more severe then mine. I plan to take the covers off this weekend and have a look. If anybody has ideas what to look for, and what to service while I'm in there, it would be much appreciated. P.S. I am an auto mechanic and have tools. Thanx in advance Joe
