I just checked out this box again. I had found the new defrost thermostat open while encased in ice so I replaced it.
The previous repairman put a defrost thermostat and defrost heater in it. Then changed the control board 2 times.
This trip I found the center of the evap coil pretty clear but the lowest part was blocked by ice. Is it possible that the heater needs to be lowered or rearranged to improve the heating at the bottom? This refrigerator can have any temp inside from 36-50+ from day to day. Somehow it is working ok sometimes and not other times.
