 Hey Tronics -

Sounds like buying a direct drive puts me no further ahead since they've cheapened them down like everything else.

Is the Cabrio the one with washer "plates" instead of an agitator?  A freind of mine has one and it "ate" a quilt once. 

This is what I really want...a RELIABLE, long lasting washer - plain and simple, nothing fancy needed, nor is energy a concern, but it must do a good job cleaning clothing.

In YOUR learned opinion....what brand and type would you buy for $600 or less?
