 Wannty for the tranny should be your owners manual. I know Jan 1 2006 warranty changed to (1) year. If the part is under warranty generally an authorized technician has to do the work (however lately I have heard of customers just being able to get the part without this)

If you have to go the authorized route the service and labor charge will probably br $250-$300. If you get the part and do it yourself the machine has to be completely torn down....depending on your mechanical abilities some special tools may be required.

I wouldn't recommend spending the money to have someone else do the work. I would either do it myself with the free tranny (if applicable) or put your money into a Whirlpool direct drive machine (before they are all gone)
