 What type of sound does it make during agitation? Replace belt won't help.

The top of the machine is held down with 2 on the front. If you press those clips in you can raise the top up. Turn the machine to spin and watch the agitator during the spin cycle....is the agitator going back and forth while the tub is spinning? If so the transmission is bad.
