I will check the fridge side, good point.

Both sides have a similar pretty good seal. I just rechecked both sides.

The new freezer gasket, was an oem replacement & correct part # but seems to be made slightly different. the width of the sealing surface is narrower & they added a "skirt" to make it look the same width as the original.

The very localized formation of ice has got my attention the most.

I dumped the ice to force it to make new ice (run water). I am going to try to "catch" it while the ice tray is filling.

I have a theory that it leaks a lot when the line is pressurized with water & then just a little when the valve shuts the water off from filling the ice tray.
