... compressor finally shut off. Freezer still at +18 fridge at 55....
that may be one of your problems...
Compressor shouldn't turn OFF until Freezer is cold enough,
OR it's Defrost Cycle time, which you could determine if we have a look at the Evaporator Coils ...
