 We had to move the combined washer/ dryer unit to repair a water leak, and while my husband was outside turning the water back on, a VERY LOUD metallic "KLONG" (Think of the sound when you accidentally stub your toe very hard on the washer.) sounded from the unit causing me to jump a foot and land on the poor cat who was investigating the nearby water puddle. :shock:    Of course the hubby did not hear the sound and only looked at me blankly when I asked "Wtf was that?"

Now the dryer runs but does not heat. Was that perhaps the heating element plummeting to it's death that I heard? Mayhaps the house elf inside had a heart attack and fell?

Any ideas, suggestions and diagrams of how to rip this beast apart and replace the element would be much appreciated.
