I am not saying it did not require some major surgeries to maintain it's fighting form... But alas now the cost of repair is more than the cost of a new machine... (I did almost all of the repairs myself with the help of the wonderful samurai website..)  I would prefer to stay with a front loader.  They seem to get the clothes a bit dryer than the top loaders.. Plus my less than five foot self does not have to listen to the very dishonorable teenagers snickering behind my back when I am leaning into a top loader and my feet are no longer on the ground.. The one we had was a 3.1 cubic foot front loader... So do the 4.0 + cubic foot machines really hold that much more and what brand holds up well.. Considering I think we do several years damage in a year with as much as it runs... LOL if the really best machine is a little bit more than the 800.00 we could swing it.. I would rather get something that will hold up for a couple of years than go cheap...
