 My GE PSS26MSTE has been turning into a block of ice lately.  My 4 year has learned how to open the door but isn't to keen on making sure the door is completely closed.

How can I initiate a defrost cycle test?  Are there jumpers on the board or is it done with the temperature controls.   I used the hair dryer tonight to get it back up and running but am hoping there isn't a bigger issue.

Also is there a way to put my ice block maker into a diagnostic mode to test the various compenents?
