Well, I ran several cleaning cycles through the thing and it didn't change anything. I don't really have any more time to spend on this; have to get it running. I could start replacing $200 modules but I might as well call the local Whirlpool 'stealership' and get the checkbook out.
I've processed a couple of loads by running the appropriate cycle. Of course, during the last 30 seconds or so of the cycle, just as the drum is spinning down, it still coughs up about a half gallon in the drum. BUT, I can run diagnostics and when it complete C:08, the load has spun and is just damp and ready for the dryer. Not an elegant solution but will do until the tech dude (or dudette) gets here.
