Yes, new belt. smooth side down. I can feel the belt in the groove on the tumbler, and through the acces panel in the back can see the idler and motor pulleys. When I turn the tumbler with my hand, the belt does not stay on the idler very well. Also the metal guide seems further counterclockwise than in the photos, ie. closer to one o'clock than 2. Could the tumbler be misaligned? It doesn't seem so from the front. and turns ok by hand.
