Can you elaborate on which is the controle console?  That isn't the back panel that I just removed to get access to the evaporator is it?  I did remove 4 screws to remove the back panel, drop it down and unplug it in order to remove the back panel out of the way.

Also, when you say to make sure that the smaller 3/8" outlet tube isn't plugged, I don't know where the outlet tube is located.  Can you elaborate on this too?

Finally, although there are two solutions offered here, one to replace the old ferrule (which I guess is the rectangular drain cup), the other is the permagum (not sure where to buy this), would either one work or do I have to do both?

The instructions you attached says to "tip the evaporator up".  I tried earlier to move the evaporator but didn't try too hard for fear of breaking something.  It also said to remove the aluminum drain trough.  I am not sure how to do that since aluminum trough goes from the back to the bottom of the evaporator.  Do I just lift the bottom of the trough so that I could get at the old ferrule to remove it and replace with the new one?  Is the new ferrule deeper than the old one?

Sorry for all the questions. If I decide to do this, I will have to buy the ferrule from my local appliance parts store and everything there is non-returnable.

Thanks again for all of your instructions and pictures.
