Hi,

I have a kenmore direct drive model 110.22802100. The washer doesn't spin or agitate and I followed the advice on the forums to chechk the pump, coupling, etc... I disconnected the motor from the washer as mentioned in previous posts to see if I could I could get the motor to run free of the washer. I turned the washer on and the motor buzzed. However, I was able to get the motor running in both directions if I gave it a spin by hand. The motor would run fine once going but always required a spin by hand to start up. Does this mean I need a new motor or is there some other thing that could be wrong. Also, if it is the motor, is it possible to buy the motor without the motor starter switch?

Your advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

The start windings in the motor sound like they are bad... And it comes complete...

Motor # 389248

And while you are there, it is a good idea to go ahead and do the coupling also...

Coupling # 285753

On reflection, you don't really have much of a choice....
