If it's a blocked pump, you can usually cure this by simply cleaning the coins and pins out of the pump impeller. The pump snaps apart and goes back together for this very reason. Easy to get to- just lay the wash on it's front panel and the pump is right there. Press the tab on the white plastic part and then it turns off, lefty-loosy, righty-tighty.

You have been extremely helpful, I want to thank you again. I have printed out all the information you have given me and havegiven it to my "repairguy" and he has actually ordered the Diverter Valve from Fisher Paykel and I wouldn't be surprised if he also order a pump, so that he can have it on hand. I am so close to fixing it myself, but it is good practice for the "repairguy" and he really does need to know how to fix Fisher Paykel washers. I did empty the washer yesterday, by hand.....5 buckets. I think I will just wait a few days and see if the Diverter Valve is the problem. Thanks so very much for your help..... I will let you know how I make out. liz

My repairguy ordered the Diverter Value a week ago yesterday. I believe he called the toll free number on the back of the booklet that comes with the machine. My question to you is.....do you know where the parts are shipped from.... New Zealand.? And any idea how long before we should expect it? thanks for you input.

Here in the US, parts are shipped from Southern California. I usually get my parts in about a week.. He should have it any day now.

Oh, I am so frustrated! My repairguy came today and put in the Diverter Valve. He said that he thought everything was all set and to try to do a load of wash. I know better than than.... I only put in 1 sheet to see how it goes. Well, all seemed to be going well, so I walked away from the machine and within a few minutes....beep, beep, beeep!!!! I went down and the fault code is #52. I decided to stop the machine.... unplug it and turn it back on. When I start again.....I can hear the motor running, but kind of like a moaning.... and it doesn't seem like it is filling up with water. I am just so sad.... I just don't know what to do.

It is possible that the repair guy put the diverter valve back-to-front. Set the wash going, it should fill for a couple of minutes and then start to pump the water into the bowl, and I suspect it is pumping it down the drain causing "52".

Oh Kiwi, thanks for the latest advice. I called my "repair guy" this afternoon and mentioned that perhaps the Diverter Valve was put in front-to-back. He mentioned that the Valve was a bit different from the original and that he would come back to my house this afternoon and switch it around. I am one happy "Wash women" right now. I have started a wash and all seems to be going well...washer filling up with water and the machine making all the normal Fisher Paykel washer noises. I will keep you posted and let you know once the wash is done..... that all is well. You guys have been a great help and I can't believe how much I have missed my washing machine over the last 3 weeks. I only wish it were easier to get parts. I think my repair guy and I have really had a joint effort on this repair project..... with a lot of information assistance from this website. thanks again, liz

To All on this Site - Thanks a bunch!!!!!! I used this thread (along with some others) to easily diagnose the diverter valve problem with our Fisher-Paykel GWL10. The shut off the water and watch it recycle from the tub trick was brilliant! I have seen some posts saying that parts coundn't be ordered from F-P. Not true, I did order directly from them and it was a breeze. BTW - in searching the internet for the diverter valve, I came across a site (not affiliated with this one) that had the part "in-stock" for only $184 plus shipping. I got it from F-P for $17. Nothing like a 1000% mark-up to help your business. Thanks again.
