Run it through a cycle empty with hot water. Put a full cup of Cascade dishwasher detergent in the machine and a cup of bleach. Put some bleach in the dispenser too. You can do this a few times if things are really nasty.

when it done, leave the door open a little so fresh air can get it a dry things out a bit.

Use HE type detergent from now on. It really does clean better, and it helps the machines stay in good working order.

Also, liquid softener is not advised. Switch to dryer sheets
