HI, I have a Maytag Performa model # PAV2300AWW and it is leaking from the base of the plastic tub (center-right side). I am trying to remove the washer basket so that can see what is causing the leak. I have removed the tub cover, agitator and the four bolts that connecting the basket, but the basket will not come off. Could I be missing something. There is a tan colored ring with spokes on it, inside the center of the basket could this be holding it on. Please help, I don't want to break anything.

2words, the thing with the splines is the seal nut assy. You should be able to lift the basket off this. The basket will sometimes stick and you have to rock it a little to break it loose, getting the seal nut assy. off can be a little rough too, I sometimes have to cut it off. Under that will be the basket hub assy which turns off counter clockwise. If you don't have a special tool for it, you might have a problem getting it off. Under that is the tub seal. Part numbers you are going to need are.. tub seal assy. 12001598, seal nut assy, 21001533, spanner wrench,35-2968, believe you can get these parts at this site...Ron
