Or Maytag has just stopped spinning, but will pump the water out. There was a slight electrical-burning smell going on when it began to fail. Could you please direct me to troubleshoot the problem? The "Door Locked" light doesn't come on anymore, either. Thanks!

There was a slight electrical-burning smell going on when it began to fail.Sounds like the infamous R-11 resister on the control board has blown due to a shorted wax motor, replace control board and wax motor, also you might want to contact Maytag to see if they will replace and repair free of charge. These parts alone will cost over $200.00

You will probably have to file a claim thru the class action suit, and then get help from Maytag. Dont know how convenient that will be timing wise. They may have immediate help or just let you stand in line for a refund. If you get no help from Maytag and are not financially able to repair it at the retail level there are some fixes out there that can get you going for around 25 bucks if you are handy with a soldering iron on a PCB board. You will still need to purchase the new wax motor, which is only under 20.00 Last edited on Tue May 3rd, 2005 02:41 am by mastertech011 |
