Hello,

I have recently moved and today I hooked up our Maytag Atlantis MAV-39 washing machine.  I leveled it perfectly and began a load of laundry.  It went through the fill cycle perfectly and decided that was as far as it would go.  Any ideas as to what could be the problem?    Before the move we never had any problems with it.   Also is there any way for me to empty this thing?

Thanks Alot

Brodie

From the move it is possible your lid switch became out of spec. Earlier models the plunger could be adjusted my pushing in on the plunger or pulling it out(since been eliminated). Since the model you listed is invalid, and you did not post a serial number I can not be sure. Do you have a meter? With the lid switch button pressed in you should have continuity from Line to motor, and Line to machine. This is written on the lid switch you are testing. Usually the terminals would be Black wire for line, yellow and yellow and red for motor and line. You are ohming the switch, not the harness. The lid switch is located under the lid at the rear. You will see a mechanism on the lid that slides back into a slit in the top that activates it. To access it for testing, remove your console. Start with that and let us know.

Hello.... Thanks for the relpy.  I apologise for the model #.  The one I listed was the one on the manuel.  Here is the correct # mav7504eww.  I actually noticed this morning that the plunger didnt seem to be working but thought nothing of it.  I have removed the console, pulled the harness off the switch and did a continuity test on the line-machine and line-motor.  I'm getting a reading on the line-machine but am getting nothing on the line-motor test.

Thanks

There you go, you da man. With the switch failed that way it will only fill, no motor operation. Replace the switch and your good to go. You can click on the blue link at the top of the page and have it sent to your house.
