Yes it agitates, it pumps out. all cycles but spin seem to work. The motor was replaced just before the warranty ran out and I think is now about 4 years old. The brushes looked good and have a lot of life yet (about 5/8 inch) I don't know if the motor is getting voltage in the spin cycle but I doubt it as it doesn't sound or look as though it is trying to move. What the washer does do is make a kind of soft whirring and clicking sound. it does this about 30 times and then quits. that sound is not coming from the motor. It does that in all the spin cycles, long spin, short spin... I thought maybe the washer was doing this because it was no longer sitting level. So I leveled it but that made no difference... could it be a printed circut card that needs replacing? thanks, dave

is that incorporated in with the door latch? the door latch is operable, has power and unlatches the door as it should. how do I find and test the door switch as regards the spin cycle?? thanks, dave

Yes, it's built into the door latch and it sounds like it's working. Also sounds like you need to verify voltage to the motor, as mentioned previously.

ah so the spin cycle requires more voltage than the agitate cycle? but I already know I have no voltage at the motor in spin cycle since it is not even trying to turn. the question is why no voltage. I think I located the level switch and am assuming it uses a mercury switch?? maybe I could check for power in but not out of the level switch??

ok I admit I ASSume the motor is not getting voltage without having measured it assumption based only on the facts that the motor runs well in the agitate cycle, the door switch works, the drain hose is not clogged and the pump works. between what wires on the motor do I measure and read what voltage? An 8pin connector has 7 brown wires going into it and 6wires from the plug go down into the motor, a white wire feeds the brush on one side and a blue wire feeds the brush on the other side...

We need the wiring diagram for your washer. Not sure if Asko (oh no) hides it cleverly in the washer like everyone else does or if you'll have to have those Godless Swedes at Asko (oh no) fax you one. Either way, when you get it post it here or fax it to me, 775-416-7775.

Yes I have the wiring diagram. they hide it under the round terminal thing next to the level switch. I don't have a scanner but I'll be at the copy center tomorrow maybe they can digitize it for me and I can post it here... I talked to some Asko customer service place in the midwest(central time zone) and after telling me they could not provide me tech support because I wasn't an authorized repairman she proceeded to give me three motor resistance readings which checked out perfectly. She also told me to check that the pressure tube wasn't clogged with soap. I was writing as fast as I could and didn't catch where this tube is but I think she said it goes to the rotary switch?? I do see what looks like a vacuum hose (small) running from below the tub up to that round thing that has a dozen or more wires going to it. pretty soon I'll be really dangerous ;^)

If the tube were clogged, it would be down at the tub end-- no need to worry about the other end. Just be sure to check it for any obvious signs of cloggagabilia.

lung power power ?? how did you do that? is there a vacuum hose somewhere that is clogged and perhaps needs clearing out?? also the hose clamps look non-reusable once removed. are they? and where can I get some. do they require special tool to use? thanks, gee I'm a grasshopper now and all I've done is ask questions. cool.

have you removed the hose completely? is it clogged or gummed up? or have a pinhole leak? since you have to remove one end to blow into maybe the fitting you are taking it off of is gummed up? how long is that hose and what diameter, does it go from the bottom of the tub near the heating element to that round thingy with all the wires? ok what's sw short for??

I found a tube that connects to about a 4inch long cylinder pulled it off and blew in it and got some action at the switch. but I never did get a spin cycle out of it. what I did get was water coming out the resevoir. I reconnected it and disconted the sw end and blew on it and got some wet lint to come out at pump lint/smallchange trap. hooked everything back up still no spin...
